Saheeli, Jewel of Avishkar FRA 0275 · uncommon

Take it when

Consider UR when you can keep casting useful noncreature spells after Saheeli.

What to take next

Add cheap interaction and prepared spells; preserve early creatures to defend her setup.

Wrong pick

Do not replace useful interaction with weak spells only to trigger her. The creature half of a prepared card is still a creature spell.

Mana & splash

Casting her needs UR. A third color also has to leave you mana for follow-up spells.

Interactions from the card text, not a ranking.

No AdmittanceRemoval is a noncreature spell, so casting it also creates a hasty flying Thopter.

Hallway Heckler // Vicious VerseCasting its prepared Vicious Verse makes a Thopter; casting the creature itself does not.

What it needs

Enough good noncreature spells and time to cast them after she resolves.

How to use it

Prepared spell copies and flashback spells are cast and can trigger her. Casting a creature normally does not.

Playing against it

Kill her before the next noncreature spell is cast; once a trigger exists, removing her does not erase it.

Pick-Two

Only noncreature spells trigger her Thopters. Prepared spells can qualify; the creature half does not.

Sealed vs Draft

An uncommon worth building around when the spell package is real, not a reason to play bad spells.

Two-Headed Giant

Your teammate’s spells do not trigger her, and her haste ability only affects your Thopters.
