More
- What it needs
- Other creatures to receive counters; a board that can exploit combat.
- How to use it
- Its beginning-of-combat trigger lets you grow the rest of your team before declaring attackers. Preserve enough counters to keep the Hydra alive when that matters.
- Playing against it
- Remove it before combat begins if you can. Removing a counter can make it easier to kill.
- Sealed vs Draft
- A strong reason to examine white, but an empty board reduces its immediate impact. XW is much easier to splash than WW cards.
- Two-Headed Giant
- Only creatures its controller controls receive counters; your teammate’s board is not included.
