Other friendly creature or planeswalker deaths gain life; its sacrifice activation places a +1/+1 counter on Edgar and grants temporary menace; spare creatures become fuel.
How this changes your picks
Rules-derived- Take it when
- Consider WB when some bodies remain useful after their entry effect or death.
- What to take next
- Add expendable creatures and death value while keeping enough blockers.
- Wrong pick
- Do not sacrifice a necessary blocker just to grow Edgar. Each activation also costs two mana.
- Mana & splash
- WB must be available early; a late splash weakens the two-drop role.

More
- Pick-Two
- Its printed cost is WB. Count the colored symbols as well as the low total when deciding whether it fills an early slot.
- Sealed vs Draft
- A low-cost creature helps an early slot only if your lands can cast it; read its abilities before assuming it attacks or blocks normally.
- Two-Headed Giant
- Only another creature or planeswalker you control dying triggers your life gain. Your teammate’s permanents do not count.
