Play
Enormous upside attached to a creature that does NOT enter prepared.
More
- What it needs
- A realistic turn in which three creatures die, then time/mana to cast Ancestral Craving.
- How to use it
- It can see deaths earlier in the turn even if cast after combat. Count actual deaths, not exile or tokens merely being returned to hand.
- Playing against it
- Remove it before the end step, or use exile/bounce to avoid the three-death requirement.
- Sealed vs Draft
- Judge the support, not the famous draw-three effect. Reviewers strongly disagree about its ordinary floor.
- Two-Headed Giant
- Deaths anywhere count, so a four-player board creates more opportunities. Ancestral Craving targets one player: that player draws three, and the shared team loses three life.
Reviewers differ
J2SJosh is positive but stresses preparation; community review C− versus the separate Draftsim team pick order’s high rating. No play data resolves this yet.
